Discovering the True Self: A Value-Based Assembly on Identity, Courage and Resilience
The College Section of Don Bosco High School & Junior College, Naigaon, conducted a Value-Based Assembly on the theme "Beyond Labels – Discover the Real You” on 14th July, 2026 at 10:00 am in the School Hall. The programme was organised by Class XII Commerce under the guidance of their Class Teacher, Tr. Prima Coutinho, encouraging students to look beyond labels and discover their true potential.
The assembly commenced with the warm welcome of the dignitaries. A special and heartfelt welcome was extended to our new Rector, Rev. Fr. Royal D'Abreo, whose presence made the occasion even more memorable.
The programme began with an introduction to the theme, followed by a prayer that sought God's guidance to help everyone recognise the dignity and uniqueness of every individual.
The highlight of the assembly was a thought-provoking skit based on the life of Joanne Rowling (J.K. Rowling). The students beautifully portrayed her journey from facing rejection and hardship to becoming one of the world's most celebrated authors. The skit conveyed a powerful message that failures and setbacks do not define a person; determination, resilience, and faith in oneself pave the way to success.
The programme continued with an inspiring student speech and motivational quotes that reinforced the message of self-belief, perseverance, and discovering one's true identity.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Royal D'Abreo appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and teachers. He encouraged everyone to recognise their God-given talents, remain confident in the face of challenges, and never allow society's labels to determine their future.
Our Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Joaquim Fernandes motivated the students to live with self-confidence, perseverance, and strong values, encouraging them to discover their true identity through positive actions.
The assembly concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks. It left a lasting impression on everyone, reminding them that true identity is defined not by labels, but by character, courage, and determination.
