The campus of Don Bosco High School & Jr. College, Naigaon, came alive with vibrant energy as students and teachers celebrated Red House Day, dedicated to the house mascot, the renowned Indian physicist C. V. Raman. The special assembly highlighted the spirit of scientific curiosity, innovation, and perseverance that defined the life and achievements of the Nobel laureate.
Under the guidance of their teachers, students from both the primary and secondary sections collaboratively presented a well-curated programme featuring skits, dances, and speeches. The skit portrayed key milestones in Raman’s life — from his early fascination with science to the discovery of the Raman Effect — while speeches emphasized his contribution to modern physics and India’s scientific legacy. Informative quotes enlightened students about Raman’s determination, simplicity, and dedication to research, inspiring them to pursue knowledge with passion and integrity.
The Rector, Fr. Dominic Martis appreciated the initiative and remarked, “Celebrations like these do more than honour a great scientist; they ignite a spirit of inquiry and responsibility in our students. May Raman’s legacy inspire young minds to think deeply, dream boldly, and serve society through knowledge.”
Principal Fr. Anthony Fonseca commended the efforts of the Red House, stating, “Today’s assembly beautifully reflected how science and creativity can go hand in hand. C. V. Raman’s life reminds us that curiosity and perseverance can transform ordinary observations into extraordinary discoveries. I congratulate the students and teachers for presenting such an inspiring programme.”
The celebration successfully blended education with entertainment, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic development and nurturing future innovators.
